Code of Ethics

My code of ethics is a set of guidelines and morals that I have chosen to stand by and follow because they are important to me. They are shaped mostly by my life experience and learned knowledge along the way. They are not a strict set of rules to abide by but a moral compass to follow or a guideline of values I would like to follow. My code of ethics expresses my beliefs, values and morals.

In business as in life, a code of ethics is a set of principles to adhere to when conducting yourself within business relationships, to comply with integrity, standards and values. A code of ethics is important for my business to have, to outline standards of responsible conduct and my values to all I come into contact with.

Honesty:

Honesty is something that I highly value. I will always try my best to be completely honest and truthful. Where a ‘conflict of interest’ arises on any humanitarian ground, I will inform and engage until a resolution is found.

Honesty can promote trust, and healthy relationships, it strengthens organisations and prevents harm.

However where a business, service or organisation is using dishonest tactics to engage others through my work I will end our business relationship.

Trust:

Trust requires vulnerability. I believe that trust is essential in every aspect of life, including personal, social and business relationships. I believe that people want to treat each other in a humane and honest manner and that due diligence is an expectation in order for a business relationship to be established.

Where this relevant for my business is in web accessibility compliance, EN 301 549 and EAA, European Accessibility Act 2025. While it is your responsibility to be aware of what is in scope for compliance to EAA, it is ours to design solutions to the standards in place. (June 28th 2025)

By acting on my own values, I hope to promote the perception that I am a woman of integrity and will make decisions based on that in any situation.

Trust is essential in creating effective collaborations, it is essential in design research that people feel safe to express their ideas, emotions and challenges in a co created space. This in turn helps to build authentic solutions.

Respect:

Respect calls on each and every one of us to have due regard for the feelings, wishes and rights of others. Even I don’t agree with their worldview, I will respect the right to candid exchanges in workshop discussions.

It is important, to treat people with dignity and appreciation, regardless of our diversity, ability, beliefs, or social circumstances.

Kindness:

Kindness is an essential part of being a whole person, it needs to be selfless, to help better the lives of others, without expectation of reciprocity.

Empathy:

For people to participate in my design research workshops, we will co create our environment, using methods of research, analysis and design that protects their data and privacy.

Integrity:

Personal integrity strengthens personal and business relationships. I will endeavour to show this through my business relationships and research practices.
